Online Demo
From PHP-EMS-Tools
You can access an online demo version of PHP EMS Tools Here. You must have JavaScript enabled. This is release 2.0.
To get started, you should take a look at the documentation on the left menu. But for the sake of simplicity, we'll just say here that for the schedule, you just click in any box to sign a member on or edit/remove the current member. This will bring up a JavaScript popup, so please have JavaScript enabled and set your browser to allow the popup. Many of the features in the demo are set the way my corps uses them. These include:
- Anybody can edit the signons for the current shift or future shifts. There is an option to require an ID# and password for any changes at all, or even to require an officer to make changes.
- Only officers (ID# 1 in the demo) can change shifts that have ended. This can be set in the configuration file for officers only or all users with password.
- The format of members' names on the schedule can be changed. The current options are to show the names listed in the ShownAs field for each member (accessible through the roster) or to show their ID#s.
- The format for times shown on the schedule can be changed. Currently it is using military time, i.e. 0600-1800. There are options in the configuration file to change this to a view like "6-18" or "06:00-18:00".
If you would like to see all of the options in the configuration file along with documentation on them, you can look at the source of the demo configuration files on the Configuration Files page.
PLEASE NOTE: Because of the non-standard way in which I have the demo installed on this server, some of the pages may not function 100%. I plan on correcting this once I can get a separate server for the demo, or decide on another best way to handle it.
Please note that the JavaScript popups are usually a bit slow when running over the web. I guess my server, though recently replaced, is still a bit substandard (but with effectively zero budget, it's not a large issue for me).
If you would like to play around with the demo, users are allowed to sign in without a password. To add a daily message, change sign-ins for shifts which have ended, or add a user, you can use the (test) administrative account: User ID: 1 Password: 1234
