Main Page
From PHP-EMS-Tools
Welcome to the new homepage of PHP EMS Tools. I've redesigned a bit and based this on MediaWiki so things should be a bit easier to maintain.
I'm going to attempt to keep this main page as empty as possible, and only mention relevant (and current) news. If you're looking for information, please use the links at the left. If you're new to PHP EMS Tools or just looking around, you can check out the About page and the Documentation and Support pages. Alternatively, you can jump right in and look at the code via the online CVS viewer. It's also probably a good idea to look through the News section and check out the Online Demo. Please also note that development is mainly driven by community interest. If the online demo lacks features that you want, feel free to submit a Feature Request via the Bug Report form, and it will be coded ASAP.
UPDATE 2008-11-02: A major update is planned - development is starting now, and it should be ready by early 2009. It will incorporate a massive change to the schedule database schema, and will be incompatible with previous versions (though a script will be provided to both migrate from the old version, and rollback to the old version if the new one is not desired). It will include many new features including LDAP options (for authentication and roster storage), i18n, etc. Please feel free to submit any feature requests for inclusion in the new version. You can track the changes on our Bug Tracker.
UPDATE 2008-07-01: The schedule page is undergoing a major redesign. It will be incorporating a number of new Ajax/DHTML features, including modal JavaScript-based popups instead of new popup windows. The development version is online at http://jantman.dyndns.org:10011/cvswork/php-ems-tools-trunk/schedule.php and available through CVS. Please note: the development version works with Firefox3 only. Once I get the core functionality working, I will include the javascript to get it working with older Firefox, MSIE, and other browsers.
2008-01-31: I know that the package is getting downloads on SourceForge and from here. I'm getting very few comments about it. At the moment, my home organization has everything we want out of PHP EMS Tools, so I'm not doing active development. If you want some features or patches, E-Mail Me and I'll do that. But I don't have much time to do big customization for organizations, at least for free. Most importantly, development will only proceed at the pace of requests from prospective users. If you want to use PHP EMS Tools, or don't because it's missing feature X or component Y, drop me a line. Unfortunately, I'm a full-time student and working 2 jobs, so I don't have the time to commit to a project that - as far as I know - few people are actually using.
2007-09-29 03:45 - Version 3.0 of PHP EMS Tools is now available on the download page.
