PHP EMS Tools is free software - both free as in beer and free as in freedom. The package is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). This means that you are free to modify, run, and redistribute the code as much as you desire (in addition to many other freedoms). PHP EMS Tools is also available at no cost to you. At this time, I am also providing free support and, as time allows, custom coding.

PHP EMS Tools is a package intended for use by Emergency Medical Services, fire, and other public safety organizations. It is mainly geared towards volunteer organizations. The original version was written for the Midland Park Ambulance Corps(MPAC) in Midland Park, NJ as a scheduling program. Currently, it supports maintenance of a shift schedule for members, roster of members, electronic rig check tracking, organizational address book, and other features.

Development is very much community-driven. My home organization has everything that we want/need already implemented. However, I am very welcome to suggestions for features, and will do my best to code them as soon as possible.

If you're looking to support the project, or feel that it's been useful, please visit the Donations page.

Credits

Currently, I, Jason Antman, am the sole active developer. I've been working on completing full and exhaustive documentation of the code in the hopes of attracting some other developers.

I would also like to thank:

  • Gabe Kooreman of MPAC for submitting a patch for a bug in the Count Hours page in Version 2.0.
  • Aaron Albertson of Vinton First Aid Crew, Vinton, VA for suggesting some of the features that were implemented in Version 3.0.
